SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATES
Dear family and friends,
We hope you and your family are healthy and safe during this time.
Although the COVID-19 crisis has created much uncertainty, as of now, we will be proceeding with Rex's Bar Mitzvah on Saturday November 6th, 2021.
We understand that the situation is in constant flux, but based on the current CDC guidelines and the recommendations of our state, we feel that by November, it will be safe to gather and celebrate. We will keep you informed if that should change, however, so please continue to check out this website for updates.
For those who prefer not to travel or participate in person, the ceremony will also be available to view via Zoom (link coming soon).
Please also feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you in person!
Love,
Bob, Ali and Rex Abbott
10/18/2021 - The big day is approaching and Covid cases are continuing to decline in the area which is great news! We are expecting between 60 and 70 people at the reception. We have purposefully kept it on the small side in an attempt to limit the number of people that you are in close contact with.
Ceremony
Remember you must be vaccinated and wear a mask inside of the temple. There is also the opportunity to attend the ceremony virtually via zoom.
Reception
ParBlu does request and suggest masks when not eating or drinking. We are still working on a safer way to dance the hora - possibly just not holding hands. As I have stated before, hand sanitizer will be readily available and there will also be Kf94 masks available. We do ask that you be respectful of others at the event. Everyone has their own comfort level, thoughts and opinions on Covid safety. I will try my best to seat people next to people they know and see on a regular basis.
10/4/2021 - We are finally seeing a decline in positive Covid cases. We are hopeful that this trend continues.
A few things to mention:
9/9/2021 - Currently the synagogue requires that all people above the age of 12 be vaccinated in order to enter the building. Masks are required for everyone. The ceremony will have a live zoom feed and you are more than welcome to attend the ceremony virtually. You can still attend the reception in person if you attend the ceremony virtually. Masks will be required at the reception.
8/11/2021 - Future updates will be posted here. The most recent update will be at the top of this thread.
